Old Time Photos Opens Under New Management

Old Time Photos, located on Stewarts landing in Eminence, has reopened under new management. The new owner is Eminence native, Stephanie Alcorn.

Old Time Photos has been operated in Eminence for several years as a seasonal business, and now Alcorn plans on being open year round. Not only will she be offering the old time photos, but also senior pictures and family portraits. She plans a Halloween special and pictures with Santa for the holidays.

Walk ins are always welcome, or call 573-351-8265 to set up an appointment.



Birch Tree to Hold Third Annual Loggers Day Event

The Bank of Birch Tree, Bowden Insurance, and the surrounding community will celebrate the third annual Loggers Day and Patriotic Tribute Event Saturday, September 11 from 12:00-7:00 p.m. in downtown Birch Tree.

There will be concessions and live music. Logging competitions, booths, displays, food and much more will fill out the days events. A parade of log trucks and machinery will close the celebration at 5 PM. Live on stage will be Colonel Eric Lewis and Bluegrass Expedition from 12-2 PM, and Johnny Patton from 2 - 6 PM. A Patriotic tribute will be featured from 1:30-2:30 PM. A silent auction will also be a part of the celebration.

The 2010 Bull of the Woods and Green Horn trophies will be presented to the top loggers of the year.

Wuertley-McGuire to Wed

Charles and Brenda Wuertley, Summersville, are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Becky Elizabeth to Kevin McGuire of Hilo, Hawaii. A September twenty-fifth wedding is planned at the Bethel Community Church in Summersville. The wedding will take place at 2 p.m., with reception to follow. The bride is a 1995 graduate of Summersville High School. She is currently working as an English teacher in Hawaii. The groom is from Seattle, Washington. He currently resides in Hawaii, where he runs his own pond and water conservation business.



Moore Crowned Young Miss Missouri

Savannah Moore, 14 of Lebanon, was the winner of the Young Miss Missouri Pageant in Mexico, MO held on July 24.

Moore is a Lebanon High School freshman.

Unlike the Miss Missouri Pageant, in the Young Miss pageant, there is no swimsuit competition. Contestants are judged 30 percent on private interview, 40 percent on talent, 15 percent on evening gowns with poise and stage presence, 10 percent on athleticism, and 5 percent on stage question.

Savannah is the daughter of Bob and Sheila Moore of Lebanon and the granddaughter of Betty Moore of Ava, and James and Mary Miller of Mountain View. She wishes to pursue a future in broadcast communications.

Savannah will be competing next in the Springfield Outstanding Teen Competition October 9.
